I really appreciate the nice article in the Titan Times, the Mercer County HS School Newspaper. Thank you to the author, Austin Sparrow, and his teacher, Charlie Cox!
This blog celebrates the great game of football and the leadership lessons from the old coaches that influenced me as a coach's son, player, & coach. My book has stories & lessons from these great old coaches.

Richard Webb, former Superintendent of Burgin Schools, Kentucky
Black Shoes & White Shoestrings would make a great gift for any kid going into coaching, teaching, or administration. I could use this as a textbook for a class. - Richard Webb, former Superintendent of Burgin Schools, Kentucky

Howell Family- Traditional Bank
Another pic from the book signing at Traditional Bank. Diane & Harold Howell. Stuart and Ethan, their sons, played for me at Paris. The Howell family was very active in supporting our program and kids during our time at Paris HS. Harold, Ron Scott, and Bill T. McConnell did alot of the hard work, behind the scenes, to support the Greyhounds back in the early 90s. Thank you & Go Greyhounds!

Traditional Bank Book Signing- Towles family & Coach Homer Goins
Today was a great day at Traditional Bank! I will try to post some more photos as I get them.
Here is Terry & Amy Towles, Patrick Towles' parents. Terry brought Patrick to my QB camp when he was a little guy. I am very proud of Patrick and what he did at Highlands and now at UK.
Here I am with Coach Homer Goins who hired me as a teacher and assistant coach, and later gave me my first head coaching position at Paris HS. As I mention in my chapter on Coach Goins, I was in his office usually once or twice a week to get his advice. I am thankful that for eight years, especially early years as a coach, I had access to his wisdom. I will always be grateful for Coach Goins and how he helped me.
It was a great to see old friends, players, Greyhounds, and to meet new people as well. Thank you to Bill Alverson, Chuck Redwine, & Traditional Bank!
